She's Checkin' In

This is the highboy that dad built mom years ago.
And this is the large bottom drawer that holds mom's precious Maggie and other AireSweatshirts.  The 2 grey sweatshirts right on the top are paintings that Miss Barbara did of Maggie and mom had the paintings printed on the sweatshirts.
Mom decided to wear one of these sweatshirts on Friday.  Friday was 8 months that Maggie went to Rainbow Bridge.    When mom put the sweatshirt on an overwhelming scent hit her.  It was Maggie's scent and it was all over the sweatshirt.  When she put her nose in the drawer, she didn't smell anything - all of the scent in on the sweatshirt.  Is that too cool or what?!
Maggie is checking in once again and mom is smiling through tears.

Dad is at a barn raising this weekend in Brimfield, Massachusetts.
The cupola is all set for raising next weekend.
This weekend, the barn frame needs to go up.
The NorthfordTimberFramers accomplished this in one day - Saturday!  Today the rafters and roof go on and there will be a huge pawty at the end of the day.
So until next time............

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

  10. We are so happy to hear that Maggie has made her spiritual presence known, that is a precious gift from God!

Mom, has spent a few minutes reading, and catching up, with your bloggy!! My goodness..Molly had her lady gardenectomy..hope she is feeling better. The Cupola is spectacular and we wish it was coming to our house!
Mom loves to go to fairs and she says she would have picked the apple crisp but the donut looked yummy.

The quilt is amazing! Mom is taking quilting 101 and that is why she hasn't been on the bloggy..she thinks she may flunk the class but she is trying to hang in there and not get too discouraged!!! BOL!!

  11. Lady gardenectomy??? That is one of the best descriptions of a fixit surgery we've ever heard. Mumsie is going to demand they use that on the OR schedule where she works...so much more gentile!!!!!

As for your mom's sweatshirt smellin' just like Maggie...that's awesome....she is walkin' right beside you guys...you just can't see her!!

We miss Mango so much it hurts. I guess by sharing our dogs to the world, the world grieves right back when we lose them. Bertie's blog brought us comfort this week when he showed pix of the hooooge storm they had there when SUDS er seafoam covered Aberdeen on the day Mango crossed to the Bridge. They all watch over us...we just need to keep our eyes and minds open...

XXOO Miss Lacie (I don't THINK they found any weeds when they did MY gardenectomy!!!!!)

  18. Howdy Mitch and Molly, we often think of your Maggie too cause she always makes us think of our angel Kara. How wonderful your mum gets comfort from her T Shirts and the smell. We know just what she means. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  32. Eight months, eight months - so hard to believe. I love the sweatshirt and the Maggie scent. I wonder what Mollie thinks of it - a scent of a dog who isn't physically there... I often wonder the same thing about our Shyla and the scent of K that must be throughout our house.

Smiling through the tears... that's what I do too.

  36. This is such a great tribute to Maggie. It is hard to believe that she has been in heaven for eight months.

When Mama was doing the wash last week she found a little hole in the T-shirt in honor of me. She was a little upset but then found a T-shirt that she wore when Angel Bosco was here. She decided to wear it for me as well. The caption is "Powered by Iams." That is the food we eat.

The highboy looks like it is brand new.

    Love -
